The House Natural Resources Committee will hold a hearing on Wednesday, October 21, on an Indian housing bill.
H.R.2523, the Helping Expedite and Advance Responsible Tribal Homeownership Act (HEARTH) Act, was introduced on May 20.
It allows tribes to approve trust land leases for home sites, cutting the Bureau of Indian Affairs out of what can be a long process.
The hearing will take place at 10am in Room 1324 of the Longworth House Office Building.
