The Federal Bar Association hosts its annual meeting and convention in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, this week.
Five panels feature Indian law topics. Attendees will discuss criminal jurisdiction in Indian Country, the Cherokee Freedmen and the U.S. Supreme Court among other issues.
The Cherokee Freedmen panel includes Cherokee Nation Chief Chad Smith, an attorney, and Charles Ogletree, a professor at Harvard Law School who has been called a mentor to President Barack Obama.
The meeting takes place Thursday-Saturday at the Hilton Skirvin Hotel.
