Kevin Peniska, the former publisher of Well Nations Magazine, pleaded guilty to rape and child abuse charges.
Peniska, a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, was due to go to trial on August 31. He was indicted on one court of first degree rape of a child under 13, two counts of sexual contact with a child under 16, eight counts of second degree rape and one court of aggravated child abuse.
Peniska had entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity but offered a confession, The Rapid City Journal reports.
