Drew Wrigley, the outgoing U.S. Attorney for North Dakota, says the federal government opposes parole for imprisoned American Indian Movement activist Leonard Peltier.
Wrigley has written a 17-page letter outlining the case against Peltier, the Associated Press reported. It will be made public on July 28, the date of the parole hearing.
Peltier was convicted for the murders of two FBI agents. He has denied responsibility for the 1975 crime on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.
