The House passed H.R.1945, the Tule River Tribe Water Development Act, by a voice vote on Tuesday.
The bill authorizes a study of a 5,000-acre reservoir for the Tule River Tribe of California. "The tribe views this study as an important first step to settling its water claims," Rep Madeleine Bordallo (D-Guam) said on the House floor.
If the reservoir is constructed, the bill bars the tribe from using future water supplies for the Eagle Mountain Casino or for other gaming purposes.
The Senate version of the bill is S.789.
