Keith Moore, a member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, has been named chief diversity officer for the University of South Dakota.
Moore has almost two decades of experience in education. He most recently served as director of Indian education for the South Dakota Department of Education.
"I look forward to building relationships that grow into partnerships for the benefit of USD's diverse students and staff. I look forward to meeting and working with new people as well as building upon already established associations," Moore said in a press release. "Each step has broadened my educational vision and I look forward to the extraordinary opportunities USD has to offer."
Moore will start his job on August 22.
