Narragansett Tribe seeks surplus Navy property
The Narragansett Tribe of Rhode Island is seeking to acquire about 400 acres of surplus U.S. Navy property.

The tribe has been interested in the Aquidneck Island properties but says it was left out of the process. The Navy agreed to extend a deadline so the Bureau of Indian Affairs could request the land for the tribe.

The island is part of Narragansett territory.
