The Senate Indian Affairs Committee has scheduled a hearing next Thursday, June 11, to discuss reform of the Indian health care system.
The hearing comes amid a national discussion about health care reform. The National Indian Health Board, the National Congress of American Indians and other organizations want to ensure American Indians and Alaska Natives are included in the efforts.
Additionally, the Indian Health Care Improvement Act was introduced yesterday. Rep. Frank Pallone (D-New Jersey) is the sponsor of H.R.2708.
The hearing takes place at 2:15pm in Room 628 of the Senate Dirksen Office Building.
