Two Arizona tribes are among the finalists for a sports-training complex near Phoenix.
The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation want to build a facility for the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies on their respective reservations.
A third, unidentified bidder is also in the running.
The city of Scottsdale is backing the Salt River bid. The proposed site is near the tribe's commercial and entertainment development and one of the tribe's casinos.
