Pueblo woman sought police help before son's death
A Zia Pueblo woman who is accused of murdering her 3-year-old son went to police seeking help just hours before he died, The Albuquerque Journal reports. Tiffany Toribio went to a police substation with Tyrus and said they had nowhere to go. They were being kicked out of their home. An officer offered Toribio information about social services but said she refused, according to the police department. But the officer failed to discover that Toribio had an arrest warrant for failing to pay a traffic ticket. Toribio would probably have been arrested but officials can't explain why the information didn't show up when the officer searched for her name in a computer database. A few hours later, she went to a park, suffocated Ty and buried him, according to police. Get the Story:
