The "Beyond the Chief" exhibit at the Native American House on the University of Illinois campus has been vandalized a third time.
Three metal signs were bent earlier this week, police said. Previously, signs representing the Peoria, Potawatomi, Meskwaki and Sac tribes were damaged.
Edgar Heap of Birds (Cheyenne-Arapaho) created the exhibit to represent the 12 nations that are indigenous to Illinois. Each sign is valued at $10,000.
The school recently retired its controversial "Chief Illiniwek" mascot.
