The Navajo Nation will receive $34.4 million in housing funds under the national stimulus package.
They money comes from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. It will be used for new home construction, housing rehabilitation and housing-related infrastructure.
"These projects will help communities in tribal lands get back on track during this difficult economic time," said Rep. Ben Ray Lujan (D-New Mexico), The Farmington Daily Times reported.
Lujan worked with tribes in his district to identify housing projects, the paper said.
