The Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana elected Raymond Jake Parker as chairman.
Parker defeated state Sen.
Jonathan Windy Boy for the top position. He won by 61 votes.
Voters also filled four council spots. Elected were Brian "Kelly" Eagleman, Joseph LaFromboise, Bruce Sunchild and John "Chance" Houle.
About 1,000 tribal members voted in the election, which was held on Tuesday after months of tribal court litigation.
