New York counties launch site against land-into-trust
Two New York counties have launched www.nocayugalandintotrust.net to oppose the Cayuga Nation's land-into-trust applications.

Seneca and Cayuga counties want site visitors to comment about the proposed acquisition of 130 acres by the tribe. The section where the public can submit their views is called “Express Your Opposition.”

“I don't know how a municipal organization that's supported by taxpayer dollars claims to create an informational Web site and solicit opinions when the information there is only one-sided and the opinions that they solicit, they are only willing to accept one-sided opinions," BJ Radford, the tribe's chief financial officer, told The Auburn Citizen.

Last month, authorities from the two counties raided two tribal smoke shops. A state judge has barred the counties from proceeding with a case against the tribe.
