The top two leaders of the Mashpee Wampanoag
Tribe of Massachusetts won't be seeking re-election next month.
Chairman Shawn Hendricks and vice chairman David Pocknett failed to file papers for the February 8 vote.
Both are currently suspended from the tribal council amid an investigation into their actions.
Hendricks has disputed his suspension, which is being tied to the guilty plea of former chairman Glenn Marshall. Some tribal council members say Hendricks and Pocknett may have been involved in the same type of actions as Marshall.
