Rep. Tom Cole (R-Oklahoma), the only Native American in Congress, will serve on the House Appropriations Committee during the 111th Congress.
Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma, will oversee the budgets for the federal government in his new post.
Cole also serves as chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee.
