President-elect Barack Obama is being asked to support $2 billion in funding for Indian Country.
Congress authorized the money as part of a $50 billion global health bill. It specifies $1 billion for water projects, $750 million for law enforcement and $250 million for health care.
Sen. John Thune (R-South Dakota), who led the push for the money, and 21 other senators wrote Obama to ask him to include the funds in his budget.
