Two new leaders for Indian Arts and Crafts Board
The Indian Arts and Craft Board at the Interior Department has two new leaders.
Joyce Begay-Foss, a member of the Navajo Nation, will serve as chair. Rebecca Webster, a member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, is the new vice chair.
"I am honored to serve as Indian Arts and Crafts Board Chairperson and look forward to working with Vice Chairperson Webster, the other Commissioners, and the staff," Begay-Foss, a weaver and director of education at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Santa Fe, New Mexico, said.
Webster is a staff attorney for her tribe and a beadworker. "Serving as a Commissioner on the Indian Arts and Crafts Board has provided me with an excellent opportunity to gain a better understanding of the diverse, rich, and complex spectrum of Native American arts and crafts," she said.
The other members of the IACB are Elmer Guy (Navajo), Rose Fosdick (Nome Eskimo) and Chuck Harwood of the Federal Trade Commission.
