The Tonto
Apache Tribe of Arizona elected Ivan Smith as chair on Saturday.
Smith is the brother of Jeri Johnson DeCola, who resigned as chair in October following an alcohol-related incident at the tribe's casino. Smith previously served as chair as well.
DeCola indicated she wanted to run for her job again but went on a vacation instead. “I was gone in the Caribbean when that happened,” she told The Payson Roundup.
