The Apache Tribe of Oklahoma, in the midst of a leadership dispute, has hired a lobbying firm.
According to the Senate Office of Public Records, Ietan Consulting will lobby a "tribal leadership issue."
Chairman Alonzo Chalepah and Vice Chair Mary Rivera took control of the tribal headquarters last month. They said they were trying to prevent a rival group from taking over.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs recognized Chalepah and Rivera as the legitimate leaders of the tribe as recently as August.
