The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said a group of children playing with fire led to the deaths of two boys on the Opaskwayak Cree Nation in Manitoba.

The children were playing inside a shed when a fire broke out. Ethan Flett, 6, and Gerrod Head, 7, were unable to escape and died on Tuesday.

Flett and Head were cousins. Their grandmother said they were inseparable. "They were always together," Mary Head told CBC News.

The shed was located in the yard a home that burned down earlier this year in a suspicious fire. A playground was nearby.
