Update: Gov. Palin is not appearing in person due to her campaign schedule. She is delivering a video message instead.
The Alaska Federation of
Natives annual convention opened in Anchorage this morning.
Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, is scheduled to speak at 10:20am Alaska time, or 2:20pm Eastern time. Palin's husband, Todd, is Yup'ik and she has spoken to AFN in the past.
The convention runs through Sunday. KNBA is providing complete coverage.
AFN has typically held the event in Anchorage but held it to Fairbanks in 2005 and 2007. Next year's location is up for grabs.
