Five people were arrested last week during a drug raid on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.
Residents were awakened by the operation in the early-morning hours of October 17. They
saw agents and officers from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms
and Explosives, the Bureau of
Indian Affairs and from the Oglala Sioux
Tribe take part in the raid.
The five who were arrested were charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine and marijuana, as well as distribution of a controlled substance. They have pleaded not guilty in federal court.
