Two California tribes whose reservations were ravaged by wildfire in October 2007 are rebuilding their communities.
The La Jolla Band of Luiseno
Indians lost 59 homes in the fire. Since last year, 26 have been rebuilt and 33 more are in the process of being rebuilt, a 100 percent rate.
Things are moving slower for the Rincon Band of Luiseno Indians. Of the 50 homes destroyed, only one has been rebuilt while five more are in the process.
Other communities affected by the fire haven't seen a high rebuilding rate. Fewer than one in 10 homes have been completely rebuilt, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
