Colville Tribes sue to stop Forest Service auction
The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation in Washington filed suit in federal court to stop the U.S. Forest Service from auctioning surplus property.

The tribes say they should have been given an option to buy the land first. The property was a traditional fishing and gathering spot.

The tribes say they weren't told of the land or the auction until a few weeks before bidding opened. The current high bid is $1 million.
