A firm owned by Ohkay Owingeh will sign a $65 million services contract with Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico.
The five-year contract with TSAY Construction and Service is the largest tribal contract in LANL's history. "This is a monumental accomplishment for our corporation," said Gov. Earl Salazar, The Santa Fe New Mexican reported.
The tribe will provide custodial support services to the lab, which is located south of the reservation. Salazar said about 180 jobs will be created.
Tsay means eagle in the Tewa language.
