An Ojibwe woman and her chiropractor were invited to a taping of the Oprah Winfrey Show about "Women Who Changed the World."
Becky Roy, 35, is from the Wikwemikong Reserve in Ontario. She was recently diagnosed with diabetes.
"In my community, that has had a terrible effect," Roy, who currently lives in Lansing, Michigan, told The Lansing State Journal. "I was devastated."
But Roy credits chiropractor Jodi Whitfield with helping her take control of her life. She submitted an essay about Whitfield through Oprah's web site and they were asked to attend a taping of a show featuring Maria Shriver, Gloria Steinem and Billie Jean King.
