The Cherokee Nation considers University of Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford to be one of its brightest young members even if he isn't making a big deal of his Indian heritage. When asked whether he was proud of being Cherokee, Bradford's response was “Uh, very," The New York Times reported. Bradford's father is Cherokee. "There’s a lot of people in Oklahoma that have Indian blood. I wasn’t brought up to really know much about it. I can’t really give him a lot of information either," Kent Bradford tells the Times. According to the Times, Bradford is a contender for the Heisman Trophy. His record for the season is 134 of 185 for 2,052 yards, 23 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Get the Story:
