A large family from the Oglala Sioux
Tribe of South Dakota hopes to move into a new home after their first one was destroyed by fire.
The 15 members of the Fast Wolf family lost their "Rez Mansion" on June 29. The fire was blamed on faulty wiring at the home on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
An outpouring of donations has the family closer to a new home. There's been some stumbles -- mainly with electricity and plumbing -- but Mary Fast Wolf hopes everything will be done in a few days.
“Just yesterday the kids were asking, ‘When can we go home? When can we get into our rooms?’” Fast Wolf told The Rapid City Journal.
