The Rosebud Sioux Tribe of South Dakota will open a $2.9 million grocery store in mid-December.
The 26,000-square-foot Turtle Crossing Grocery Store will feature a deli, a bakery, a pharmacy. The store will promote healthful foods and utilize the Lakota language.
The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community of Minnesota, known as the most generous tribe in Indian Country, extended a $3 million loan and awarded a $1 million grant to pay for the store.
