A 76-year-old member of the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut escaped injury after falling into the Thames River on Monday.
Donald Tantaquidgeon was transporting his boat when he fell into the river. Authorities said the Navy veteran remained calm throughout the rescue.
Tantaquidgeon is the uncle of William Quidgeon, the tribe's treasurer.
