An Indian couple of South Dakota has turned their passion for art into a new business.
Kathy and Russell Red Horn opened Native Expression in May. The store, located outside of Sioux Falls, features Kathy's star quilts, Russell's beadwork and works from other Native artists.
"It’s not just to help us – it’s to help other natives in the area," Kathy Red Horn, a member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, told The Tea Harrisburg Champion.
Russell Red Horn, who grew up on the Pine Ridge Reservation, still maintains a second job but hopes the couple's business can inspire other Native entrepreneurs.
