Sen. Max Baucus (D-Montana), the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, is seeking an investigation of the Indian Health Service.
Baucus asked the Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services to investigate how the IHS allocates funding. He is concerned that money is running out.
Earlier this month, the Fort Peck Tribes of Montana said the IHS is failing to pay for equipment and staff.
