Irene Folstrom, a member of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, has entered the race for mayor of Bemidji, Minnesota.
Folstrom, a Democrat, is among six candidates for the position. She has previously run for the state Legislature.
In other Minnesota races, John Persell, who works for the Leech Lake Band, is running for the House 4A seat. He is a Democrat.
