A four-year-old boy was rescued from a truck that was swept into a river on the Grand Rapids First Nation in Manitoba.
The boy was left inside the truck by his grandfather. The boy somehow managed to put the running vehicle into gear and it plunged into the fast-moving Saskatchewan River.
A group of nearby fishermen went after the boy as the truck began sinking quickly in the river. One man managed to break a window of the truck with a hammer to free the boy.
The boy is reported to be in stable condition after being flown to a hospital. The incident is being investigated but no charges are expected.
