Vice President Dick Cheney's staff censored Congressional testimony that warned of the health threats of global warming, a former Environmental Protection Agency official said on Tuesday.

Former EPA deputy associate administrator Jason K. Burnett said the White House ordered the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to eliminate six pages of testimony about the health threats. The testimony was delivered to the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee without the information.

The White House has defended the edits, saying there wasn't enough scientific basis for it.
