Roybal Whiteman, a 23-year-old member of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe of Colorado, was sentenced to more than 25 years in prison for two crimes against fellow tribal members.
Whiteman pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for the shooting death of Tracy Lynn King. He pleaded guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon on Delamar May.
The crimes occurred about a year apart on the reservation.
