More than 450 firefighters from multiple agencies are battling a blaze on the Mescalero Apache Reservation in southern New Mexico.
The fire burned about 4,000 acres of forest and wild land on the reservation. It was about 45 percent contained as of Monday.
The Mescalero Apache Nation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs have spent $796,000 on the fire.
