Voters in the town of Mashpee approved a land agreement with theMashpee Wampanoag Tribe of Massachusetts.
The tribe agreed not to pursue a land claim or a casino in the town. The town agreed to help the tribe with its application to have 140 acres placed in trust.
The tribe's federal recognition was finalized in May 2007.
