Voters of the White Earth Band of
Ojibwe in Minnesota overwhelmingly re-elected Erma Vizenor to another term as chairwoman.
Vizenor faced six challengers in yesterday's primary. But since she won 66 percent of the vote, she won't have to run against anyone for the general election.
According to The Detroit Lakes Tribune, Vizenor is the first candidate in White Earth history to win more than 50 percent of the vote during a primary. Her closest challenger received only 13 percent of the vote.
