Tribal member faces challenge in Democratic primary
Correction: Jim Bradford is not a tribal member.
A member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe of South Dakota is facing an unexpected challenge in the Democratic primary for Senate District 27.
Theresa Two Bulls is the
incumbent. She is being challenged by Jim Bradford.
Bradford currently serves in the House but can't run again due to term limits. He says he thought Two Bulls was going to leave the Senate to run for his old seat.
Two Bulls says she might have considered doing that - had Bradford approached her about it. “I heard from a fellow Democratic senator last year that I’d agreed to go over
Despite the bad blood, Two Bulls and Bradford are promising a clean fight. Voters go to the polls on June 3.
