Biggest closure of salmon fishery on West Coast

The National Marine Fisheries Service is closing the Pacific salmon fishery on the West Coast due to extremely poor salmon runs.

"This is the largest collapse of salmon stocks in 40 years," NMFS regional administrator Robert Lohn told The New York Times.

The closure will affect the commercial fishery from northern Oregon to the Mexican border.
