Tulalip Tribes launch Native television station

The Tulalip Tribes of Washington have launched KANU TV, which is being billed as the first and only nationally broadcast tribal network.

The channel offers a variety of programming aimed at Native audiences. There are shows specific to the Tulalip Tribes and the Pacific Northwest Indian community too.

"This is an opportunity for our people to tell our stories, our way," Niki Cleary of the Northwest Indian News told King 5 News.

KANU's programming is available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
