The Royal Canadian Mounted Police arrested a man in connection with one of the recent murders on the Samson Cree Nation in Alberta.
A tip led to the arrest of Darrell Ernest Baptiste, 19, in Edmonton on Monday. It's not clear whether the information came because the band is offering $50,000 in rewards in five murder and attempted murder cases.
Authorities say 13 gangs are fighting over the drug trade in the area and are contributing to a rise in violence on the reserve.
