A family that wants to open a dairy farm on the Yakama Reservation in Washington is hosting a public forum on Thursday night to explain the operation.
Dairy is controversial among tribal and non-tribal members. They say the farms pollute the environment and create health hazards.
The Yakama Nation passed a resolution last month that bans new dairy operations and expansions of existing facilities. The Sytsma family wants to work with the tribe on the project.
