The Red Cloud Indian School on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota is planning a $2.5 million expansion.
The school will break ground on the addition this fall. The new wing houses the science and Lakota studies programs and provides social space for students.
The Catholic school serves grades pre-Kindergarten through 12. It is supported 97 percent by private donations and receives no tribal, state or federal funds.
