John Kintop died outside Club 47 in the town of Lac du Flambeau. Two men, Brian Cross, 26, and Clinton Graveen, 23, have been charged with first-degree reckless homicide in connection with the January 22 incident. Cross and Graveen appear to be tribal members.
The joint liquor committee of the tribe and the town held a meeting last night to discuss the issue. Some blame the bar for serving the men who were involved in the fight. According to LDFNews.Com, an unofficial website for tribal issues, the bar re-opened just two nights after Kintop's death. The town is located within reservation borders.
