A member of the Jicarilla Apache Nation of New Mexico faces charges in the beating death of his 3-year-old son.
Treston Paiz died last night, KRQE reported. His father, Jay Rutherford Paiz Jr., was arrested Sunday after the alleged beating on the reservation.
Federal investigators said the boy appeared to have been the victim of more than one beating. They are looking into the care of a 6-year-old boy who also lived at the home.
