School district delays death of 'Redskins' mascot
The board of the Colusa Unified School District in California voted 3-2 on Wednesday to delay the elimination of the "Redskins" mascot. The board previously voted 3-2 to eliminate the Colusa High School's mascot. But the decision was delayed a year to allow current freshmen to graduate as "Redskins." "This is our name," freshman Ciera Green said at an hour-long meeting, The Marysville-Yuba City Appeal-Democrat reported. "We want to keep it, and we want to be Redskins until we graduate."
