Two New Mexico tribes are talking with state officials about joining the Rail Runner Express.
San Felipe Pueblo and Santo Domingo Pueblo say their communities could benefit by hosting stops on the route from Albuquerque to Santa Fe. Tribal members could commute to jobs and the tribes could see more customers at their economic development ventures.
Currently, only one tribe -- Sandia Pueblo, right outside of Albuquerque -- is on the rail route. Adding more stations could affect the speed of the service, which is expected to open to commuters in December.
